Friday Fabric! Sew sweet vintage style

Bunnies & Cream fabric

When it comes to our fabric stash, we love to have prints and palettes for every occasion: rich hues, brighter shades and some cute prints stashed away for when we get to sew something special to welcome new arrivals….

So we’re loving the new Bunnies & Cream fabric collection from EQS. It feeds our love of vintage-style pattern for quilts with a nostalgic touch. Designer Sally Ablett used it to create her super sweet Bunnies & Cream quilt for issue 25 and it’s the perfect choice for nursery makes with a vintage twist.

“The Bunnies and Cream fabric really made me think of sunny days spent outside in fields of flowers with blue skies above,” Sally tells us. “fI therefore used a white background fabric in this quilt, to really show off the soft colours of the printed fabric to its best.”

“I chose simple blocks that would display the patterns of the fabrics to their full potential,” she adds, “as these feature such sweet illustrations. One block is a vacation of a four patch block, made up from pieced squares for a little extra detail. Along with the pinwheels, another classic block, this quilt should come together relatively quickly for  summer make that will put a smile on your face… no matter what the weather.”
