We’re excited to share that we’re revealing our brand new The Vintage Home Block of the Month – only available in issue 29 of Today’s Quilter magazine! Jo Avery is back – and after turning her hand to the natural world for her A Month in the Country series, now she’s heading indoors and exploring the everyday household treasures that we fill our homes with.
To launch the new series, Jo’s designed two beautiful Tea for Two blocks – inspired by the UK’s favourite drink. “I love all sorts of crockery but teapots have a special place in my heart” she tells us. Unlike our previous block of the month, this time we won’t be making two of the same size blocks each month; Jo’s mixing it up! Instead the size of blocks we reveal each issue will vary, so you may be asked to make three smaller blocks or two different sized blocks for example. Don’t worry… Jo has a master plan for how it will all come together!
Don’t miss Jo’s tips for sewing up each block, along with her notes and advice about the amount of fabric you’ll need, over on her blog www.mybearpaw.com.
Join in with Jo’s online quilt along
To celebrate the new series, Jo is throwing a Vintage Home Quilt Along and you’re invited to join in! She’s arranged for some of our favourite quilters to sew and share blocks from the series in the months to come.
We’ll be joining in too, and all you have to do to join the party is share a photo of the blocks you sew on instagram using the hashtag #TQVintageHomeQAL.
Not on instagram?
Share a photo on Facebook or Twitter using the same hashtag, or email it to us – we’d love to see!
